Where else can you attend a concert, an exhibit, the theatre, the ballet, and a lecture by one of the foremost political leaders in the world – in a single day? And still have time to compare notes with friends over a latte?
Our community has been home to internationally known organizations such as the Aspen Music Festival and School, the Aspen Institute, and the Aspen Center for Physics for more than 50 years. More recently, they’ve been joined by the Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, Theatre Aspen, the Aspen Art Museum, Aspen Filmfest, Aspen Writers’ Foundation, Jazz Aspen Snowmass and many more to provide our guests with a cultural experience second to none. At last count, we had more than 500 performances, lectures, classes, films and exhibits on our summer calendar.
Suggested Adventures in Aspen
Stroll our lovely, leafy downtown streets. Turn a corner and discover a string quartet playing Debussy to die for. It will remind you to catch the master class at the stunning Wheeler Opera House, where the best music students fine-tune their talents before a live audience.
Plan an early dinner before you walk over to Theatre Aspen. Give yourself time to pause outside before you go in. Aspen evenings are bright, balmy and bug-free. (But trust us; take the blanket they offer you on the way in.)
Attend the lecture on global implications of free trade at the Aspen Institute. Since its founding in 1950, the Institute has pursued its mission of fostering enlightened leadership.
