First Quarter Reports 2020 – Housing Statistical Reports

The Secret of change is to focus all of your Energy, not on fighting the Old, but on building the New.”  –Socrates

 Hi Everyone,

I hope this newsletter finds you safe and well!  Life has changed for all of us rather dramatically this past month. We’ve gotten adept at having meetings online.  Our children are learning through their screen time and the phone connection has been our lifeline!  We even socialize by computer and facetime. The changes not just to business, but to our daily lives have given me pause to think of all the things I am grateful for.   I am such a believer in the value of real estate—for investment and a place to live. Having spent more time at home than I can remember, makes me appreciate what a gift home is.

The forecast of the Real Estate Market in the Roaring Fork Valley.  We started out in the first quarter with a stronger market than first quarter 2019 almost across the board as you’ll see from the reports below.  Where there were fewer transactions there was also less inventory.  The future prediction of our market lies in when we get back to business and how we get back to business.  In the recession of 2008, we had a glut of real estate on the market.  This time we have less inventory.  Wanting a smaller, safer town as experienced in 9/11, we may see an influx of Buyers from our feeder markets like NY, San Francisco, LA, Dallas, etc.  Will there be opportunities?   Probably.  Time will tell.  It is still too early to make predictions!

When you are ready to have a conversation, I am here to listen.
